My Best Friend

I sit and think about my life,
Been doing that so long,
It makes me wonder why the folks,
I know see me so wrong.
I always try my hardest,
to be their bestest friend,
But it never fails to happen,
that they toss me in the end.
That is except one person,
who I've known for several years.
She's been there for me thick and thin,
to cure all of my fears.
I don't know why she likes me,
more than others seem to do.
But when I'm hurt she's always there,
to sooth my tattered blues.
I know I am so insecure,
the slightest thing that's said,
can sometimes throw a fastball,
right into my aching head.
She understands that, so, she always,
calms those fears instead.
and never fails to bring a smile,
with what she's done and said.
She makes me know she loves me.
When I am feeling doubt,
and tries so hard to be there,
when I'm feeling I'm without.
For this I want to thank her,
and tell her she's the best,
most loving hearted person,
That I have ever met.
