Moonshines
The moon lays it's path to me on the lake,
it's the one I've always found so easy to take.
I wade out into the shallows trying to find the deep,
But I've never found the one that's mine to keep.
Everytime I step into a pool,
The water rushes in to let me know I'm a fool.
So I just fill the moon up with all this love,
search for my deep with the light from above.
It's free for those who want to take a drink.
Most just sip enough to think.
Never found one who drinks till drunk,
Most just leave after putting out the punk.
Some day someone will think to light the fuse,
fill the night with fireworks and never lose,
the love I give without conditions,
and not give in to superstitions.
Then I'll have found my deep,
and I'll close my eyes and drift off to sleep.
