Days Off

Listening to the silence in my house,
Just the AC and the clicking of my mouse,
The CD's have all ended, the TV turned down,
and it's just me and my doggies,
and they both are asleep sound,...ly
But for some reason I'm not alone,
I don't have those thoughts wracking my brain,
I took a day off from the world,
what I needed was very plain,
No, I'm not having a party,
I'm just sitting and mailing a ton,
I'm not doing anything naughty,
Just relaxing and having some fun.
I'm still in my pj's,
I rested a bit,
I could get used to this,
I may never quit,
It's not what you think,
I needed this time,
to sit down and write,
this silly old rhyme.
Days off always seem,
so few and far between,
Sleep away the blues,
perhaps have a dream,
and now you show up,
what a day is this,
it's like one of those movies,
waiting for the kiss,
It's all that I needed,
to make it complete,
now type something sweet,
or ask me to play,
and I'll smile and say,
What a great day.
